MOTRIN® Grageas están indicadas para:
- Alivio de los signos y síntomas de artritis reumatoide, artritis reumatoide juvenil, osteoartritis, artritis psoriásica, espondilitis anquilosante y gota (ataque agudo).
- Alivio de los signos y síntomas de trastornos reumáticos no articulares tales como la tendinitis, bursitis, dolor de la espalda baja, síndrome de hombro agudo.
- Alivio de los signos y síntomas de daños a tejido blando (esguinces y distensión).
- Alivio del dolor leve a moderado diferente al del musculoesquelético.
- Tratamiento de dismenorrea primaria.
- Reducción de la fiebre.
El ibuprofeno está contraindicado en pacientes que hayan mostrado hipersensibilidad a él. El ibuprofeno no se debe administrar a pacientes con triada de ácido acetilsalicílico (asma bronquial, rinitis, intolerancia al ácido acetil salicílico). En dichos pacientes se han reportado reacciones asmáticas y anafilactoides letales.
La probabilidad de una relación de causa por el ibuprofeno existe con las siguientes reacciones adversas:
- Cuerpo en general: anafilaxis y reacciones anafilactoides.
- Sistema cardiovascular: edema, hipotensión, insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva en pacientes con función cardiaca marginal, presión sanguínea elevada, palpitaciones, retención de líquidos (generalmente responde rápidamente con la descontinuación del medicamento).
- Sistema digestivo: náuseas, dolor epigástrico, pirosis, diarrea, distensión abdominal y vómito, indigestión, estreñimiento, calambres o dolor abdominal, tracto gastrointestinal lleno (indigestión gaseosa y flatulencia), disminución del apetito, úlcera gástrica o duodenal con sangrado y/o perforación, hemorragia gastrointestinal, pancreatitis, melena, gastritis, duodenitis, esofagitis, hematemésis, inflamación del intestino delgado o grueso, síndrome hepatorrenal, necrosis del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, hepatitis, ictericia, pruebas anormales de la función hepática).
- Sistema hematológico: neutropenia, agranulocitosis, anemia aplástica, anemia hemolítica (algunas veces Coombs positiva), trombocitopenia con o sin púrpura, eosinofilia, disminución en hemoglobina y hematocrito, pancitopenia.
- Respiratorio: broncoespasmos, disnea.
- Piel y anexos: exantema (incluyendo del tipo maculopapular), prurito, erupciones vesiculobulosas, urticaria, eritema multiforme, síndrome de Stevens-Johnson, alopecia, dermatitis exfoliativa, síndrome de Lyell (necrolisis epidérmica tóxica), reacciones de fotosensibilidad.
- Sentidos especiales: Zumbido de oídos, pérdida de la audición, ambliopía (visión borrosa y/o disminuida, escotoma y/o cambios en la visión a colores).
- Sistema urogenital: Insuficiencia renal aguda en pacientes con deterioro del funcionamiento renal preexistente significativo, necrosis papilar renal, necrosis tubular, glomerulitis, disminución de la depuración de creatinina, poliuria, azoemia, cistitis, hematuria.
- Misceláneos: resequedad de los ojos o la boca, úlcera gingival, rinitis.
Caja con 20 y 30 grageas de 400, 600 y 800 mg.
Frasco con 45 grageas de 400, 600 y 800 mg.
MOTRIN® Grageas: La dosis diaria total no debe exceder 3,200 mg.
Si se presentan padecimientos gastrointestinales, administre ibuprofeno con leche o con comidas. En condiciones crónicas, la respuesta terapéutica a la terapia con ibuprofeno es vista algunas veces de pocos días a una semana, pero más frecuentemente se observa a las 2 semanas.
Artritis reumatoide, osteoartritis, artritis psoriásica, espondilitis anquilosante, gota aguda:
Dosis recomendada: 300, 400, 600 y 800 mg tres veces al día ó cuatro veces al día. La dosis de ibuprofeno se debe ajustar a cada paciente y puede ser disminuida o elevada dependiendo de la severidad de los síntomas ya sea al inicio de la terapia con el medicamento o conforme responda o no responda el paciente. Exacerbaciones agudas de artritis reumatoide aguda, gota, etc., deben responder mejor a un rango de dosificación mayor. La osteoartritis debe responder a dosis de ibuprofeno a la mitad del rango terapéutico. Se debe emplear la menor dosis de ibuprofeno que proporcione un control aceptable.
Artritis reumatoide juvenil:
Dosis recomendada: 30 a 40 mg/kg/día en dosis dividida.
Estados reumáticos no articulares (tendinitis, bursitis, dolor bajo de la espalda, síndrome de hombro agudo):
Dosis recomendada: 300, 400, 600 ú 800 mg TID ó QID. En general, los estados agudos tienden a responder más rápidamente que los estados crónicos. La dosis se debe ajustar de acuerdo a la respuesta del paciente.
Daño de tejido blando (esguince o distensión):
Dosis recomendada: 400 a 600 mg cada 4 a 6 horas.
Dolor de leve a moderado diferente a músculo esquelético (dolor de cabeza, dolor de dientes, etc.):
Dosis recomendada: 400 mg cada 4 a 6 horas conforme sea necesario para aliviar el dolor. En estudios analgésicos controlados, las dosis mayores a 400 mg no son más efectivas que las dosis de 400 mg.
Dismenorrea:
Dosis recomendada: Iniciando con los primeros síntomas de dolor, se debe administrar ibuprofeno a una dosis de 400 mg cada 4 horas conforme sea necesario.
Reducción de la fiebre:
Dosis recomendada: 200 a 400 mg cada 4 a 6 horas para la reducción de la fiebre.
